Shamanic Shiatsu: Open Workshop @ Wellbeing Centre

When our desire to be seen is met, we recognise ourselves and remember our inalienable freedom

This is a weekend for anyone interested in touch and mind/body.  We will be exploring what it means to see and to touch through the doing of non-doing.  Shamanism is commonly thought of as mysterious or magical but in this workshop, we will explore the truly shamanic which seeks to see things as they really are which is always and only the most ordinary and simultaneously the most wonderful.  These two days include:

  • Guided discussion of practice of touch and its relationship to perception
  • An exploration of what it means to be an everyday shaman
  • Exercises to develop perception and the doing of non-doing
  • Introduction to a theory of mind and body which helps us see and touch with more mindful awareness
  • Historical context of Shamanic Shiatsu
  • Working towards the integration of developed perception in treatments throughout the weekend

Alice has degrees in philosophy, religious studies and theology and worked for many years with Kishi Akinobu, the most accomplished Shiatsu master of this tradition.  With him she wrote Sei-ki: Life in Resonance, the Secret Art of Shiatsu 2011.  She is also a practitioner and trainer in Mind Clearing and wrote Mind Clearing: the key to mindfulness mastery 2016.  She works in London and Norwich, UK and teaches internationally.
