Principal of Newcastle branch, Anne has a degree in microbiology and worked in the field of human genetics for 15 years. She is an experienced teacher of Tai Chi, which she has been studying since 1978, and she graduated from the Shiatsu College in 1990.

Anne was Assessment co-ordinator for the Shiatsu Society between 1991 and 1994 and went on to be Chair of the Society between 1995 and 1997.

She established the Newcastle branch of the Shiatsu College in 1992 and more recently she also qualified as an Acupuncturist, one of the first students to complete a research-based MSc at the Northern College of Acupuncture in York.
