The Shiatsu College Newcastle was established by
Anne Palmer in 1992, to offer professional Shiatsu training in the North East of England.
Since then over 60 students have successfully completed the three year part time course. Many of these are now registered practitioners of the Shiatsu Society (MRSS), whilst others have been introduced to Shiatsu through our introductory weekends.
All our classes are small with the opportunity for personal contact with an experienced teacher.

We run a range of courses throughout the year:

Introductory Courses
    These courses give an opportunity to learn some of the basics of Shiatsu in an informal setting. You will learn how to give a basic treatment for use on family and friends.

Our Intro weekends are lead by teachers registered with the Shiatsu Society.

Professional Training
    The three year professional training course is run over 12 weekends of the academic year (October to July).

Continuing Professional Development
      We regularly hold post graduate training days. These workshops are an opportunity for graduates of any college to deepen and develop their Shiatsu practice, whether or not they have their MRSS.

There is usually a theme around which the day is based (such as back pain, asthma, making your treatments more effective etc). The afternoon will usually include individual practical tutorials and opportunities for discussing any difficulties people may be having with their practice.

Numbers are limited to allow for individual attention.

Shiatsu Treatments

 

Shiatsu treatments are available from Anne Palmer. The initial consultation and treatment will cost from £40, subsequent sessions £35.

 

Low cost treatments are available in our Student Clinic. Here, final year students work, under supervision, on members of the public.

The clinics are usually held once a month on a Friday evening at 5.30pm and 6.45pm and cost £18/12unwaged.
Booking is essential as places are limited.
