Integrating eastern and western medicineProgramme Structure

Weekends

The Programme starts with an exciting introduction to Energy Medicine generally, covering the principles and practice of working with Ki (Qi), developing Ki sensitivity and Ki projection for healing.

Subsequent weekends focus on Zen Shiatsu, exploring the philosophy, theory, diagnosis and treatment methods developed by Masunaga.  You will also learn Traditional Chinese Medicine and the use of Acupuncture points, alongside the modern understanding of what happens when we interact with our clients via the energy field.  Western physiology & pathology is integrated with your Shiatsu studies, to give you a profound understanding of the human body/mind complex.  Client/practitioner relationship issues, ethics, self-development and self-reflection are also explored and developed.

Home Study & Assessment

You will need to do a minimum of 7 hours of home study per week, in the form of regular practical Shiatsu treatments, e-learning modules and assignments. Assessment is through satisfactory completion of a Portfolio, built up over the year and recording both practical and theory input.

e-Learning Modules

Each separate topic will have e-learning support including notes, discussion forums, videos and quizzes.

Where do I go next?
